Michelle Ropiza
Owner of Catamaran Brokerage - Licensed and Bonded Yacht Broker
Michelle is a Florida native, spending most of her life living, working and playing on the water. She has logged over 50,000 NM of offshore sea time to date. Her knowledge spans extensively throughout the entire Caribbean basin with the Virgin Islands and Bahamas as her specialty.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys flying her Cessna 206 with her husband and "potcake" dogs to Bahamas and camping on the beach. They have been found on occasion to fly over emergency parts to clients in the Islands. She's also an avid scuba diver, kite boarder and snow skier - when she can find the time to get out West. She's an adventure seeker at heart.
Michelle's number one goal as a Yacht Broker is use her extensive Catamaran knowledge and experience to provide the ultimate customer satisfaction. She's consistently a top producer in the industry and has closed on over 300 catamarans to date. She truly enjoys connecting with her clients on a personal and business level.
Patrick Dorning

Patrick's 30+ years' experience in the yachting industry is an invaluable asset to Catamaran Brokerage. In his past role as the Technical Director of Leopard Catamarans, he was involved in developing new catamaran design, overseeing the design and improving on the owner warranty process. He is a 300ton RYA Yachtmaster Offshore licensed Captain and used to teach sailing in South Africa. He makes sailing look easy. He captains our clients boats for survey and sea trials when they simply add him to their insurance policy.
When he's not working, Pat spends his time with his wife, Michelle and their 2 potcake dogs. He is a aviation pilot and flys their Cessna 206 to the Bahamas every chance he gets.
Nicole Greene
Director of Sales & Marketing - Licensed and Bonded Yacht Broker
Nicole joined the Catamaran Brokerage team in June 2021. As graduate from FAU with a BA in Business Marketing, she has spent her entire career in various sales and marketing roles. While newer to the catamaran yachting industry, she is no stranger to boats. She was raised in South Florida and spent every free moment on the water. Her childhood memories are at the beach or in the Florida Keys, mostly on a boat. She loves fishing, free diving, scuba diving, snorkeling, lobstering and most every other water activity.
She became a licensed yacht broker in June 2021, and helps close on over 60 catamaran sales each year.
When she's not working, Nicole spends her time with her children and husband. Weekends are spent either on the water in their Scout or at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments for kids competitions.
Nicole looks forward to building relationships with clients and following their journeys while they fulfill their cruising dreams.

Gwen began her professional yachting career as sailing instructor in the Med and in the Caribbean. She furthered her marine industry experience by working for a major sailboat manufacturer in France followed by a yacht charter company in Saint-Martin.
In 2012, Gwen joined The Moorings as Yacht Broker specialized in ex-charter fleet sailboats and in Leopard catamaran brand.
In 2018, she decided to move with her family from the Leeward to the Windward Islands and spent 2 years in Carriacou in the Grenadines Islands before working at JFA Yachts shipyard in France recognized in the superyacht industry.
With her husband, a professional captain, and their 2 daughters, they love to sail on their boat. They have an extensive knowledge of the whole Caribbean islands and people. They both have great interest in the superyacht catamarans.
As Yacht Broker, Gwen is well known in the industry for her honesty and integrity throughout sale and purchase process. She builds trustworthy relationship, offering unparalleled customer service. She is bilingual English/ French.
Gwen joined the Catamaran Brokerage team in 2022. That’s the perfect place for her to share her knowledge and passion listening to the needs of her clients and helping them find their dream catamaran.

Captain Kevin Klinges is a highly professional and experienced sail and power boat captain, with extensive knowledge in the industry. Growing up sailing the Chesapeake Bay with his four older brothers, Kevin developed a passion for sailing at a young age. His father's 42' Irwin became their summer companion, sailing from the north to the south every year until Kevin's college years.
At the age of 19, Kevin made a bold move to The Virgin Islands, where he crewed on a 68' trimaran. The adventurous journey took him to Grenada, Venezuela, and back to St. Thomas. During this time, Kevin's skills as a sailor flourished, and he gained valuable experience in handling various types and sizes of boats, from monohulls to catamarans.
For seven years, Kevin worked as a sailing captain for a sailing school in Charleston, where he honed his skills as an instructor and cruising consultant. He conducted numerous deliveries from Maine to Florida, the Bahamas, and all over the Caribbean, further expanding his knowledge and expertise. Additionally, Kevin, along with his family, embarked on a sailing adventure to the Bahamas on a Lagoon 400, spending almost two years exploring the beautiful waters.
Kevin's experience also includes a transatlantic delivery on a Lagoon catamaran, sailing from France to Fort Lauderdale. This challenging journey showcased his navigational skills and ability to handle long-distance voyages.
With over 25,000 nautical miles under his belt, Kevin possesses extreme hands-on knowledge of numerous makes and models of catamarans and monohulls. His understanding of his clients' needs allows him to guide them with positive results. Hailing from the midwest, Kyle's lifelong passion for the water led him to make the move to the coast of South Carolina in 2011. Beginning his career as a captain, it was during his second year that he discovered sailing, and he hasn't looked back since.

Mark Wattrus

Mark Wattrus was born on the coast of South Africa, one of the largest producers of catamarans in the world. Growing up on the coast, Mark found a passion in freedive spearfishing having been trained under the guidance of world record holder, Trevor Hutton. The underwater life ultimately pushed Mark to pursue a life on the water.
At 18, Mark’s sailing abilities were recognized, and he was awarded a bursary to obtain his 200 Ton Captains licence. Mark set sail, skippering a 50ft Catamaran to Madagascar at the age of 19 and progressed onto large internationally acclaimed sailing Yachts before coming back to Catamarans. With several transatlantic and Indian ocean crossings under his belt he has spent the last decade sailing around the world. His career led him to running expedition charters, dive programs, catamaran deliveries, and for the last several years operating luxury live aboard charters in the Seychelles, Madagascar, East Africa and several islands in the Caribbean chain with his wife Halle who is a professionally trained Yacht Chef.
It was in the engine room, under the guidance of an Argentinian engineer, that Mark started to focus on Marine systems as a Yacht technician. He has spent a considerable amount of time with boat manufacturing companies and in boat repair facilities overseeing refits and repair work on large Catamarans. More recently, Mark has managed the design, build and delivery of two 57ft Catamarans.
Mark’s strength lies in his ability to handle very complex transactions with ease and professionalism having handled the purchase and sale of catamarans across several continents as a professional catamaran broker. His knowledge and contacts prove invaluable to buyers and sellers looking for expertise in the catamaran segment.
Mark has now settled in Charleston, South Carolina and Fort Lauderdale, Florida with His wife Halle and Daughter Lily. When they are not on the water they spend a lot of their time hiking and spearfishing in remote destinations.

Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, my passion for the ocean was ignited at a young age through surfing and scuba diving along the stunning coastline. In 2001, at the age of 16, I set sail with my parents and sister on a Dean 365 Catamaran, leaving South Africa behind to cross the Atlantic. Our voyage took us to Brazil and eventually to the Caribbean, where we spent a year cruising together.
In Sint Maarten, I pursued a four-year apprenticeship at FKG Rigging, where I honed my skills and became competent in the art of sailboat rigging. It was during this time that I met my wife, and we were married in 2005. Our shared love for adventure led us to travel through the UK, South Africa, and eventually the United States in 2010. While my wife completed her degree, I founded The Yacht Rigger, a mobile rigging service and online parts store, serving the inland lakes of Tennessee and North Carolina.
In 2014, our journey brought us to St. Petersburg, Florida, where I relaunched The Yacht Rigger as a mobile service alongside my father, Richard. What began as a modest operation has grown into a thriving, 25-person multi-service team based out of Salt Creek Marina in downtown St. Pete, thanks to the support of my fantastic business partners, Brian and Andre, and our dedicated employees.
Throughout this journey, I've been incredibly fortunate to have the unwavering support of my loving wife, children, and everyone who has been a part of this adventure, from family to business partners and our exceptional team.

Derrick Hill

Derrick’s love for the water started at the early age of 12, when he tried scuba diving for the first time with his family. By 18, he was a PADI divemaster, and he worked for “The Best Little Dive Shop in Texas” during college. After a few years in sales during the internet boom, Derrick dropped everything to move to Fort Lauderdale to focus on dive instruction, earning a PADI Master Scuba Diver Instructor rating along with a Resort Operations certification. He went to work as a full-time dive instructor / boat captain on Grand Turk and then moved to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, where he started his own dive operation, “N2 The Blue," and grew the business over the next 12 years. During this time, Derrick began sailing on various monohulls and catamarans. Once he sold his business and moved back to Florida, being a yacht broker was a natural fit.
Derrick spent the last five years as a catamaran broker, and he has now found his permanent home here with Catamaran Brokerage. He continues to carry an active US Coast Guard 100-ton master license.
