“I am not a person to normally write a review, but Mark Wattrus went so far above and beyond of what I would expect as my yacht broker that I want to share my experience working with him.
I recently made the decision to sell my yacht that I had intended to put into charter. I was new to the yachting/boating industry and chasing a dream of owning a sailboat. Unfortunately, in that short-lived time I got involved with the wrong people who were supposed to be managing and selling my yacht and it cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. But this is where I met Mark Wattrus, and everything changed.
Mark was referred to me by a good friend, they had also sold a yacht with Mark and had nothing but extraordinary things to say about him. Mark looked into the situation for me and offered help. I was feeling backed into a corner. Mark offered to fly out on his own dime and move my yacht to a safe location where it could be properly fixed and sold. Mark took care of every bit of the logistics for me including calling the boat yard, scheduling haul out, planning arrival times and put me in contact with some trustworthy good people when I arrived to help walk me through the process.
The next step was to fix the yacht back to a good condition for it to be sold. Marks knowledge of the industry and his contacts proved to be invaluable. Mark took care of every aspect to include finding a reputable repair shop to come out to the boat yard and coordinated having my engine and generator craned out and put on a flatbed. Mark then found the only shop 5 hours away in Fort Lauderdale who could repair my generator. He scheduled the reinstall and all of required checks to get my yacht back in good condition.
This is not even where his hard work stopped. After my yacht was sitting in the yard and closed up for weeks while it was getting repaired it started to grow mold and was covered in dust. Mark and his amazing and supportive wife drove for 3 hours and spent a few days and multiple trips on their own dime cleaning and looking after my yacht to prepare it for sale. Prior to listing the yacht with Mark, it sat on the market for 10 months without a single offer. Within hours of listing it for sale with Mark I received multiple offers and was able to sell it at a great price. The entire process to included the final closing was a breeze with Mark and his team in my corner.
I don’t know if I can say enough good things about Mark but he had genuine compassion and took care of someone who was a stranger to him. At the end of it all not only did I sell my boat but I made a good friend I can trust in the process. If you’re considering selling or buying a catamaran for your personal use or to put into a charter fleet, Mark is 100% your guy and has some great connections”

I wanted to provide some feedback and information for those on the site interested in selling or buying a catamaran. I have had the opportunity to work with Catamaran Brokerage (Michelle and Gwen) in both the selling of our L-40 sailing catamaran and purchasing of our L-43 PC. Catamaran Brokerage was fantastic to work with as we sold our L-40 sailing catamaran. Michelles network of individuals delivered several individuals interested in the boat and arranged all the details of the showings. Michelle continually contacted me talking thought all the things that would make the boat sell. They had me involved, since I knew a lot about the boat, and handled all the details when offers came our way. Michelle and Pat personally came to the sea trial and survey which really helped the buyer and me as we moved through the process. Michelle and her team also handled all the details of the closing making it very easy. We then use Catamaran Brokerage help us find our L-43 PC. Because we only were shopping for a L-43 finding what we wanted was not easy. Catamaran Brokerage found several US based L-43’s but none of them worked out to be what we wanted. But because Catamaran Brokerage has Gwen based in St. Maarten we found a L-43 that fit our needs in the Caribbean. Personally I really did not want to buy a boat in another country 1,100 nm from home, which I am sure many of you would not want to do either. But with Gwen on site all the scary details got handled pretty easily. Gwen and Michelle worked together to insure that in each trip down we did what we needed to do (sea trails, surveys, etc.). The truth is it is more complicated to purchase a boat in another country but with Gwen and Michelle organizing, showing, assisting with negotiations, government details, importing, and helping with the arrangements to get the boat back to the US all fell into place. Plus now we have an amazing friend in Gwen who worked behind the scenes to insure all the local stuff got done right. I could go on but I will close by saying I strongly recommend Catamaran Brokerage for selling or buying a boat. I also would encourage you to expand your boat shopping to St. Maarten (Caribbean) with Gwens guidance it provides so many more options.
